Hospitality
Corporate wear has had a bad reputation in the past, with badly designed, badly cut and badly made garments being the norm.
But there is a growing demand for well cut, well made, well designed and even slightly edgy Uniforms. This requires extensive knowledge of Mens and Ladies Tailoring, as well as a general knowledge of outerwear, Shirts, dresses, Skirts etc.
We have worked on a number of corporate wear design projects over the years, for Airlines, Restaurants, Hotels, Bars and Retailers, including the Iconic Virgin Atlantic uniforms with Vivienne Westwood.
Workwear.
Workwear can provide a big challenge both for the Designer and the Pattern Cutter. Airline Uniforms are an especially big challenge. Some of the factors that have to be considered are :- ergonomics, health and safety, culture, climate and environment.
Stewards need to constantly lift their arms overhead so the sleeve and armhole should not be restrictive. The cabin crew have to travel all over the world and be presentable to all cultures and be comfortable in all climates.
