Pattern Cutting Classes In Kent

One-To-One Beginner Pattern Cutting Classes.

We have two locations in Kent for Sunday pattern cutting and sewing  tuition  – Rochester, and Folkstone.

These are one-to-one and small group pattern cutting classes for beginners and intermediates.  Designed for fashion students, beginners and home dressmakers  to acquire a basic understanding of pattern cutting, pattern manipulation, and block creation.

There is no set format and no formal course. Your tutor is free to design a course around your individual requirements. Or to teach whatever is most relevant and interesting for the individual student.

Our weekend pattern cutting classes are for anyone wanting to learn the basics of pattern cutting. Some are fashion students who want to add to their existing knowledge.

Some are home dressmakers who would like to adapt or grade their shop bought commercial patterns. Some would like to copy a favourite garment. Some would like to make their own pattern blocks.

All  pattern cutting  classes are tailored to the clients own requirements. This means that your tutor can devote more attention to the individual students.

Paired Tuition.

Paired tuition involves pairing two students of the same level together, leading to a significant reduction in price, while not effecting the quality of instruction. This works best when the paired students apply to take part in the classes together.

Rochester Class Tutor – Carlota.

Your tutor Carlota,  runs one-to-one and small group  pattern cutting and sewing classes from her Rochester Kent studio, a stones throw from The Rochester UCA.

Rochester is in the Medway Towns, forty minutes from London Victoria or St. Pancras. There is a very good rail service with frequent trains.

Originally from Madrid in Spain, she recently graduated from The University Of The Creative Arts Rochester, where she gained a Fashion And Textiles diploma, along with a Fashion Atelier degree.

She speaks fluent Spanish, English, and French, which comes in handy when liaising with offshore factories for her fashion business clients.

Possessing a good knowledge of pattern making and garment construction, with advanced dressmaking skills, Carlota also offers one to one sewing and dressmaking classes  for both home sewers and fashion students.

Carlota is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable sewing machinist, interested in all aspects of dressmaking and garment construction.

Folkstone Class Tutor – Janet.

Janet is an experienced freelance pattern cutter, sample machinist, grader, and qualified tutor. She teaches pattern cutting, grading, and sewing from her studio in Folkstone.

Dressmaking.

Dressmaking classes are available for beginner and intermediate sewers.
