(014). Emile has been  an invaluable  associate  of The London Pattern Cutter since 2016. As our Senior Fashion Business Adviser, he is the most visible member of the team, providing  immense help and support to all our fashion startup and small business clients.

Through The London Pattern Cutter Emile  has helped hundreds of fashion startups get off the ground successfully, with his wide ranging knowledge of the fashion industry,  his helpful advice, and his one-stop-shop service for startups.

Emile has been in the fashion industry for  twenty years – As a successful fashion business consultant,  designer and entrepreneur. He is involved in every stage of the garment making process, and  knows the clothing business  inside out.

Just like many of our clients, Emile has had to build his businesses up from scratch with limited finances. So, he understands the problems that small businesses face, and he has experienced at first hand how difficult it is to achieve success in the UK fashion industry.

Emile runs our very popular one-to-one fashion startup workshops – Both from our London Greenwich  studios, and online via Skype. The workshop covers all aspects of starting and running a clothing business in the UK.

As each workshop is tailored to the individual client, there is no set time or date. We can work round your own  schedule, and build a workshop to suit your needs.

 

British Fashion Council.

Most recently Emile Vidal Carr has been announced by British Fashion Council and DHL as one of the  finalists to receive this years Fashion Potential Award. The finalists have gone on to receive intense mentoring from senior experts from BFC, DHL, Matches Fashion, and Gymshark, to name a few. Emile received personal mentoring under Steve Hewitt , CEO of Gymshark.

Fashion Designer.

Emile Vidal Carr has been a tenacious designer and art director, creating highly engineered, vivid and indulgent premium womenswear.

“I love architecture, so I use my fascination for structure and translate that into my designs, which adds to our very distinctive style”.

The head designer and graduate from the very prestigious London College of Fashion, set up his first clothing brand in 2003, selling in Topshop , ASOS and Allders. Then he rebranded and set up as Emile Vidal Carr.

 

Sample Room.

Emile has worked  for some of the largest designer labels  in the world – Such as Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham, Erdem, Peter Pilotto, Kanye West, Roland Mouret and Ralph & Russo.

He was one of twenty designers chosen to take part in New York fashion Week, and was part of the UK technical team that provided the 2012 Australia Olympic team uniforms.

He believes that every garment has been engineered and has achieved a strong identity for his products by manufacturing everything in his very own London based factory.

Emile started his career in the fashion business courtesy of is mother who was a part time dressmaker. She showed him the basics of how to sew and also gave him his very first sewing machine.

 

Fashion Degree.

By the time Emile graduated he had officially set up the brand and called it Bellanina. Through lots of hard work and a bit of luck Jenny Holloway ( CEO of Fashion Capital ) took on the brand, along with a few others, and took on the role as sales agent and maxed to broker deals that got Bellanina stocked in Topshop, ASOS and Allders.

 

Lecturer.

Emile got into teaching and founded the stitch to pitch project, which is an initiative that encourages young people to get into the fashion industry, and equipping them with both business and practical skills.

Not only has a specific course been designed as a stepping stone to a BTEC , but we have also published interviews online from some young leading fashion experts.
