Sportswear Patterns

I have been a keen Sportsman and Fitness enthusiast all my life and  I am also a qualified Gym Instructor / Indoor Cycling Instructor. So I have a special interest and enhanced understanding of the ergonomics and the technological aspects involved in creating modern performance  Sportswear patterns and samples.

Whether you just require a basic hoodie, a T Shirt or a Polo Top, or you require something more sophisticated like an ergonomically designed cycling top, swimwear or skiwear, I can make the patterns for you and provide the grading too.

Sportswear has obviously undergone a massive increase in popularity in recent years, with just a relatively few manufacturers like Nike and Adidas  obtaining a very big share of the market. While branding is incredibly important in the sportswear sector, there is still a lot of room for smaller companies to create their own niche markets. An athleisure boom   has taken place  in the last few years.

These days I tend to specialise in dealing with  small startup brands within the U.K.  so I can provide plenty of advice to the would be fashion Entrepreneur. I also work with established high quality sample machinists and factories and as I dont receive any financial rewards for recommending them, I only recommend those who I believe can give you the best results.

As Sportswear is a very specialsied area of clothing, it has to be made by factories that have the correct machinery. Consequently these factories are far more reliable in terms of quality than a normal clothing factory that does not specialise. I would strongly suggest to only use specialised factories to manufacture sportswear. Many sportswear styles require special coverstitch and flatstitch machinery that most normal factories do not have. The coverstitch is necessary for performance garments that fit close to the skin and need comfortable seams that do not chafe against the skin. The coverstitch is used for hemming stretch fabrics.

Working in and around London and in the U.K. as a whole I have been involved with a number of Sportswear Companies over the years and have created patterns for Boxing, Tennis, Cycling, Cycle Polo, Football, Rugby, Racing Silks, Skiwear, Beachwear and Aerobics.

While I am not involved in the  production of Sportswear, I do have access to factories  who can produce small to medium quantities of Sportswear in the U.K.
